Did they drive an old 2002 or did they start with the first M3?
After watching reviews of the new CSL and the new M3, part of me wonders if BMW has just forgotten how to make a great chassis.

It’s finally here! Excited to watch it (even if that means they will mention it 3 times every podcast).

Oh man, a space grey E90 in the middle? Looks like I’m going to have to watch this.

Good video, worth a watch I think. It should be said that’s $4 for a rental, and $12 to buy. I do wish they could have gotten their hands on a Euro-spec e36 - then the comparo would have been truly complete.

Started with the E30 M3. Seems like the M2 is set up very well, but the F30/80/82 has just gotten too big. The early reviews of the F30 being less pleasing to drive than the basic E90 were very telling.

Haha! I’m just glad someone finally got all these together. I’d like to see EVO do the same test, with the Euro E36.

Our cars still get much respect! Interesting results for their top three, considering some other comparisons I’ve seen. A lot comes down to personal taste, of course.

Yeah, I’m hoping EVO does this same comparison with all the “real” M3s. Have you read their excellent all-M car comparison from nearly a decade ago?

I mean who doesn’t love a high revving V8 and a chassis set up by BMW M. All of my friends who have driven mine have loved it.

Thanks! That was a great read. Interesting to see the e36 getting (comparatively) low marks even in its best incarnation.

It’s the red-headed stepchild, for sure. One wonders what history has in store for the F8x.
